A battery-powered appliance mover that doubles as a hoverboard...
Project objective was to create an appliance mover that provided comparable performance to current AC products.
Experimenting with pad design to try to optimize contact surface area and reduce necessary flow rate.
Round pad design to optimize SA and eliminate the high loss of flow due to creases in the corners of the rectangular pad.
Dual-volute housings printed in glass-filled nylon prior to final assembly. This was completed with extensive help from Eric Leal, the aerodynamics wizard.
Dual-volute design utilizes two mixed-flow fans in series run by independent brushless motors, each powered by an 18V battery. The volute orientation is less than ideal for packaging and size purposes but is optimal for efficiency.
